Hooray for Windows

Being a Macintosh fan, I’m not normally one to say something like, “Hooray for windows,” but in this case, I’ll make an exception. Not for the operating system, of course, but for the work done on our windows in the house. Inside trim work began today and I like what I’m seeing. The living room windows and sliding glass doors look complete, and materials have been prepped for the rest of the windows.

If you notice some rough spots on the trim, that’s normal. Painting comes later.

On the outside of the house, most of the soffits and trim have been done. As I mentioned in an earlier journal, they are holding off on some of the work at the front until after the concrete porch is installed. Other than that, the only bits that look unfinished are a bit at one of the peaks and some stuff above the garage doors.

So as I look ahead, the big items are installing the rest of the interior trim and creating the concrete porch. Once that’s done, the big thing will be front of house siding and porch posts. Then there’s the electrical stuff like the porch light, garage door lights, outlets, doorbell, mailbox, house number, and of course, demolishing a remaining chunk of concrete at the side of the house. There are probably a few details I’m missing, but that’s what’s on my mind right now.
