Leaving the Farm

September 21, 2009
Picture at the top: These were our hosts at Rigney’s Farmhouse B&B, Caroline and Joe Rigney. They took a minute out of their busy day (this is a real working farm and B&B) to pose for this picture.
We had a delightful stay at Rigney’s Farmhouse, but today it was time to move on to Dingle. It’s quite amazing to me to see people who work so hard all day long being so available to show us hospitality at every turn.
The drive to Dingle displayed some lovely countryside, and I’m getting comfortable enough with driving here that I even got to see some of it. For the rest, I relied on the reports of my passengers. We saw fields and ocean, and we saw hills that were often topped with mist. Also plenty of sheep.
We arrived at Dingle and were given a warm and informative welcome at The Milestone B&B by our host, Barbara, who showed us a map and some of the best things to see and do in Dingle town. I’m including a photo here of the view from the window in our room.
It’s a quarter after 5, so we’ll be looking to get some dinner in the next hour or two. Mom and Dad are treating us for our anniversary, which is today.
